Think Gastric Sleeve is Safe? Think Again!

Look at these butchers operating with chopsticks.

In this barbaric procedure 3/4 of the stomach is removed. The problem with that is, we need our entire stomach for proper digestion of the proper foods. After your stomach has been butchered it can not do it necessary role in the digestive process.

The aftercare for all weight loss surgery is substandard. They will tell you that it is ok to eat right after the procedure. Complications mean more money for these thugs.

What's the death rate from Gastric Sleeve Surgery?

The industry will tell you that the death rate from gastric sleeve surgery is one in 400. That's a lie. The industry will tell you that the death rate from gastric bypass is one in 200 when the real number is one in 50 and that is just within the first 30 days. It's hard to find good data on the actual death rate but based on the industry lies a reasonable guess would be one in 100.

When a fool asks one of these butchers what the death rate is they will cite industry numbers but they will plan claim that their death rate is much lower. Chances are they are lying. That is what criminal types do.

Maybe you would be better off dead?!

Adverse Effects of Weight Loss Surgery

Complications from weight loss surgery are frequent. A study of insurance claims of 2522 who had undergone bariatric surgery showed 21.9% complications during the initial hospital stay and a total of 40% risk of complications in the subsequent six months. This was more common in those over 40 and led to an increased health care expenditure. Common problems were gastric dumping syndrome in about 20% (bloating and diarrhea after eating, necessitating small meals or medication), leaks at the surgical site (12%), incisional hernia (7%), infections (6%) and pneumonia (4%). Mortality was 0.2%.[30] As the rate of complications appears to be reduced when the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon, guidelines recommend that surgery be performed in dedicated or experienced units.[4]

Metabolic bone disease manifesting as osteopenia and secondary hyperparathyroidism have been reported after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery due to reduced calcium absorption. The highest concentration of calcium transporters is in the duodenum. Since the ingested food will not pass through the duodenum after a bypass procedure, calcium levels in the blood may decrease, causing secondary hyperparathyroidism, increase in bone turnover, and a decrease in bone mass. Increased risk of fracture has also been linked to bariatric surgery.[31]

Rapid weight loss after obesity surgery can contribute to the development of gallstones as well by increasing the lithogenicity of bile. Adverse effects on the kidneys have been studied. Hyperoxaluria that can potentially lead to oxalate nephropathy and irreversible renal failure is the most significant abnormality seen on urine chemistry studies. Rhabdomyolysis leading to acute kidney injury, and impaired renal handling of acid and base has been reported after bypass surgery.

Nutritional derangements due to deficiencies of micronutrients like iron, vitamin B12, fat soluble vitamins, thiamine, and folate are especially common after malabsorptive bariatric procedures.

Seizures due to hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia have been reported. Inappropriate insulin secretion secondary to islet cell hyperplasia, called pancreatic nesidioblastosis, might explain this syndrome.[32]

The death rate for gastric bypass is 1 in 50!
A recent study by researchers at the University of Washington found that 1 in 50 people die within one month of having gastric bypass surgery, and that figure jumps nearly fivefold if the surgeon is inexperienced.

  1. I post non industry data. In other words I don't post the lies of the weight loss industry.

Jackie, the digestive system is the way it is for a reason. Butchering a healthy organ is illegal, immoral, unethical and unhealthy. What about that don't you understand.

I will not dispute the fact that for some people obesity is very dangerous but statistically people are better off fat than if they have weight loss surgery. About 400K die from obesity each year but if every American who qualified for weight loss surgery the death toll would be in the millions.

Fat people are gluttons and their obesity is a result of their chosen behaviors. The idea of butchering their digestive organs simply because they choose gluttony or personal and social responsibility is barbaric.

The stomach plays a vital role in the digestive process and butchering the stomach and altering its function is quack medicine.

Gluttons have a choice, they can reduce their caloric intake or they can continue being gluttons. Once they get butchered by a surgeon they have no choice. They now have surgically induced bulimia.

I, Fat Bastardo do not have a vested interest in doing this and therefore I have no reason to lie. The entire medical industry is dishonest, greedy and dangerous.

Just because one procedure is less dangerous than another is irrelevant to this discussion. In my article I pointed out that the gastric sleeve is only half as deadly as gastric bypass so I an not comparing the two. Why are you implying that I am?

    1. It is not illegal to "Butcher a healthy organ" as people get vasectomies and tubal ligation all the time. It is also not illegal, immoral, unethical and unhealthy. So basically, you quote outdated numbers to prove your point and post incorrect information. . . how are you saying you are different?

    2. The Vas Deferens and Fallopian tubes are not considered organs. Tying them off is not detrimental to one's health. Destroying the proper functioning of a perfectly healthy digestive system is barbaric.

Just because a fatty won't behave when it comes to food does not justify maiming them for life.

    6. Hey ignorant bastard......... do more research. NOT EVERYONE IS FAT BECAUSE THEY ARE A GLUTTON! some people have metobolic syndrome, hypothryoism, chronic debilitating physical injuries that do not allow them to physically be able to work out and therefore they gain weight because they are not active. NOT EVERYONE IS FAT BECAUSE THEY EAT 10 BIG MACS AS YOU PROBABLY DO.

    7. All fatlings are gluttons and the laws of physics and 100 years of metabolic study prove that. FYI you are the one who needs to do research you fucking moron. Metabolic Syndrome is the result of gluttony you dumb fat girl. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/ms/

Hypothyroidism does not and cannot change the Basal Metabolic Rate you ignorant reality denying walking yeast infection. Also hypothyroidism is easily cured with medication so you can shove that dishonest excuse up your gluttony denying as where your pea brain resides.

Your other lie is equally pathetic. If you are less physically active and if you don't want to be fat the solution is simple EAT LESS.

I, Fat Bastardo, do not deny the fact that I like 73% of American I am a GLUTTON. The Americans who maintain a health weight are NOT GLUTTONS. See... I can use cap locks too.

Clearly you are a fat girl who won't accept reality or is too ignorant to comprehend it so may I suggest an RNY with a duodenal switch and while they're at it have them put your mouth where your asshole it as they are both interchangeable.

Stop joking and playing around! these are the kinds of things that people need advice on and really dont have time to see people playing and making fun of a procedure that they are considering having. For the people that are reading this, God will call u when he gets ready for you and if you are going to die because you are trying to change your lifem then let your family remember you as a fighter and not as a quitter, because some of us are going to die if we dont get this surgery. I am at the end of my road and I have tried everything there is to try and nothing works, I cant even breat anymore and I have small kids, so the least I can do is try this procedure and have a chance of losing the weight and spend many years with my kids. A word of advice from me to you, dont lisen to people that have no clue of what you are going through because they are risk of dieing with everything you do like driving and texting, smoking and even breathing. Peace out

    2. Sorry Tammy, but I have watched too many people die, both in the hospital and is private life from gastric surgeries. I would often hear my own patients complain they have tried everything: Yet when I list a few things that would help, they have tried none of them. Find yourself a good natural health practitioner and LISTEN to what they say and DO what they tell you. Seriously, everyone I know who has had gastric surgery is in the fast process of dying. Go see a natural health practitioner, MDs/drug doctors know NOTHING about nutrition and will only hurt you.

    3. Skeptic, thank you for your sage advice. WLS is a major cause of premature death as is obesity but know there are offering weightloss to people who are eating only 30 - 40 percent to much and those people would be better off fat.

I do think MDs know about nutrition but it is not in their best financial interest to enlighten the general public because if people ate well doctors would go out of business since a large percentage of money making health problems are related to poor eating habits and can be corrected by good eating habits.

Doctors in the US are our biggest national security problem and they are the real terrorists.

  6. Clearly Tammie food is more important to you than your family and your children. You have picked the pleasure you get from food over them. Food obviously means more to you than your kids.

You will now pay a butcher to destroy your perfectly health digestive system simply because you refuse to eat mindfully and responsibly. Instead or eating responsibly for your kids you are going to risk and 1 in 50 chance of dying by having ghastly bypass surgery.

You CAN eat responsibly from this moment forward but you simply choose not to do so.

The very fact that you decided to get knocked up while fat tells me that you are an unfit mother. You should give your kids to a good woman who will care more about them than her food lust. They need a mother who is mature and responsible and who loves them more than food. Your love is as weak as your will to behave like a mature adult.

    1. The death rate from this surgery is 1 in 50. A lot of people put the weight back on after surgery because the only thing they can digest is fat. Fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs have 4.

I am the leader of the New Fat Acceptance movement and the fact is I have lost a large amount of weight and kept it off for three years. I generally don't make that fact public. I got educated about nutrition. I simply calculated my BMI and ate at the amount of calories. Your BMI is your body weight times 10.

    1. All weight loss surgery does is restrict how much food you can eat at one setting and or cause mal-absorption. Most people over eat by up to 50% because that is how much portion sizes have grown.

If a woman eats 2000 cals a day the most weight she can maintain is 135 lbs or less. If a man eats 2500 the most he can maintain is 160 lbs or less.

Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate by multiplying your body weight x 10. That is who many calories you should eat to lose weight safely. If you eat at your BMR you will lose 1 pound per week per 100 pounds of body weight.

BTW, I Fat Bastardo, am now 170 pounds and I am 5'10". I have easily maintained this weight for nearly 3 years. You gotta count calories and avoid shitty food.

I was under the impression a balloon was inserted to create a full" affect. This slicing away of a vital origin screws up a very intricate endocrine system. So besides going bald-breaking legs- early onset dementia -dead skin- loss of fingernails -blindness -bleeding rectum due to no natural lubrication to poop -dry vagina=no sex- lost libido-brain fog-depression-suicidal thoughts - to name a few, one risks cancer of (name body part) since hormones are not produced at needed level, or not at all! I have asked many questions in Facebook sights for information, only to have comment section shut down and replaced with secret formats for post -op patient to get "help with problems" from other patients who have been there . Real advocates for emotional support. Wow, so kind. Real advocates tell you to try stopping STRESS.STRESS KILLS, causes HEART ATTACKS,DISEASE, STROKE,A HOST OF PHYSICAL AILMENTS THAT CAUSE BODY TO HOLD ONTO WEIGHT TO SURVIVE THE STRESS.THAT'S JUST ONE LIFE CHANGE THAT DROPS POUNDS FAST. ME, 203lbs 5 months ago,MAY 2018.Today,30Sept 2018 and am 154-159 and eating at Red Lobster,Panda Express,JUST NO FOOD WITH ESTROGEN PUMPED INTO IT OR NO ANTI-BIOTICS...NO CHIPS, TACO BELL...LOTS OF GARLIC,HONEY,BLUEBERRIES,POACHED IN Lemon juice with 3 EGG breakfast.THEN Celery w/hazelnut spread for lunch. AND NO ESTROGENERIC FOODS= NO SOY.
SO, A loss of approximately 50 lbs in five months with no saggy skin,a healthy skin tone and all my endocrine system glands pumping out life saving hormones,I think one should listen to Fat guys words and choose LIFE.THAT'S A GAMBLE One WILL ALWAYS WIN.

    3. Stop your wife from this barbaric butchering. The guy you see in my picture is now a lean fit man.

My weightloss plan was simple. I ate at my BMR (basal metabolic rate) BMR is roughly weight in pounds times 10. I was 450 pounds. My BMR was 4500 calories a day.

Initially I lost 4.5 pounds per week on 4500 calories per day. I lost 18 pounds the first week.

By the 2nd I lost over 50 pounds the first month. It was easy. I ate lots of raw vegetables with very little seasoning.

When lost the first 100 pounds I no longer needed insulin and my heart disease began to reverse.

Today I weigh 170 pounds and I am 6'2". I can run up stairs without being winded. I have maintained that weight for 6.5 years.

It all comes down to calories in vs calories out.

The most the BMR of people of the same age weight and gender can only vary by 35 calories per day. The disease process cannot change the BMR. Women naturally have a slower BMR than men.

I can't give you legal advice but I think there maybe a lot of blame to go around. Post surgical infections are common in the US because hospitals make a lot of money treating them.

It sounds like your sister died of sepsis which I believe is 100% preventable.

I know that suing all involved in her death will not bring her back but it may help in a small way in preventing more post surgical deaths.

Stopping gluttonous and slothful behavior is the best way and everyone know it. While going to the gym is a good thing it is not required. It mostly come down to eating less and eating right. Doing that is not a matter of can't. The truth is, gluttons won't cease their gluttonous behavior.
